Shri Nrusiha Saraswati was born in a Brahmin family in Karanja, a town in Maharashtra. His parents were Madhav and Amba. He was named Narhari by his father. He was a prodigy child, who mastered the Vedas and other scriptures at a very young age. He also had a keen interest in yoga and meditation.

Some of the places where he stayed and performed miracles are:

Ganagapur: This is the main place where he resided for a long time and where most of his devotees gathered. He performed many miracles here, such as curing diseases, granting boons, reviving the dead, removing sins, etc. He also established a math (a monastery) here and appointed his disciple Sayamdeo as its head.

Audumbar: This is the place where he met his guru Shri Dattatreya in person and received his blessings. He also met his previous incarnation Shripad Shri Vallabh here.

Narasobawadi: This is the place where he manifested himself as a Jyotirlinga (a self-luminous linga) under an Audumbar tree. He also gave darshan (vision) to his devotees here.

Gangapur: This is the place where he entered into samadhi (a state of deep meditation) and disappeared from the physical world. He also gave his final instructions to his devotees here.
